Madi Paidi Bangkok, Autograph Collection, one of the city's hottest boutique hotels which brings the art of storytelling to life, is excited to announce the appointment of Teerathep "Tor" Tishabhiromya as Executive Chef at EKKALUCK, the hotel's signature dining destination, as it prepares to unveil an original culinary concept.
Chef Tor has more than 15 years of experience at Thai and international hotels and popular restaurants in Asia Pacific. Having been inspired to cook by his grandmother (the first recipe he learned was her steamed fish with curry paste), he embarked on an impressive career that has taken him to Australia and across Thailand. He achieved his first executive chef role in Laguna Phuket in 2014 and joined Marriott in 2018 as executive chef at Sukhumvit Park, Bangkok - Marriott Executive Apartments.
Over the course of his career journey, Chef Tor has led his restaurants to many awards and accolades, including top rankings on Tripadvisor, while his creative menus have delighted many diners. Most recently, he was executive chef at Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit 20, establishing the hotel's culinary direction and successfully overseeing three popular dining venues.
Ever since it opened its doors in September 2023, EKKALUCK (which means "unique" in Thai) has lit up the dining scene in Thong Lor, Bangkok's trendiest district. Its contemporary style of Thai and international cuisine will now be elevated to new angles of excellence with the arrival of Chef Tor and the launch of its innovative "Brunch, Lunch and Later" concept.
Having greeted guests every morning with a stylish semi-buffet breakfast, featuring healthy plates and live stations, Chef Tor and his talented team will craft a series of signature à la carte dishes throughout the day and evening. Popular Thai and international recipes will be reimagined with an Instagrammable twist, and while each menu item will stay true to its taste roots, the artistic presentation and unique ingredients are sure to spark conversation.
From Pad Thai Chao Phraya, which can be enjoyed in a sizzling street food style or as a Tom Yum soup, to Tao Hoo Klong Ngae, a Southern Thai favorite from Hat Yai province which is prepared with a signature sweet chili & tamarind dressing, EKKALUCK is a haven of creative Thai cuisine, while reinterpreted classics such as Green Curry with Young Coconut Meat and Indian Naan Bread, and the succulent EKKALUCK Burger will tantalize the taste buds. Chef Tor also embraces local and sustainable ingredients; for example, the EKKALUCK Salad is brimming with healthy greens and is inspired by our hotel owner's passion for homegrown Thai produce, including his own fresh kumquats. Each dish is complemented by our handcrafted cocktails and rare wines, ensuring a truly exceptional dining experience.
